Hello, I am Ana
Project manager. Parent. An expat living in Lisbon, Portugal.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many relocation stories, it began with a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores felt more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet, gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Lav Mire Soltyn
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or just surface-level tourist content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Portugal.
What This Site Represents (And What It Is Not)
This site OFFERS:
- Hands-on experience from living in Portugal
- Focuses on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site IS NOT:
- A tourism authority resource
- Paid review platform
- A general travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Portugal goes on, along with the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Ana
